Song for the day: A Change of Heart by The 1975

This album, man.  I was walking home from uni to clear my head (it’s like a 45 minute walk) listening to this, and I genuinely felt lighter.

So, as you might remember, I started this month off with 8 goals in mind.  This post is my victory lap photo on the wall of shame.  Let’s catch up, shall we…

  1. Get back into the swing of blogging.  Nope.
Well, this failed.  I have had no energy to blog, and although I am ashamed to admit it, the thought of joining a twitter chat has made me really anxious as of late.  I NEED TO GET OVER THIS.  I feel like I’ve been neglecting you guys, and that’s not right.
  2. Do a trip to Lush.  Yes!
I got myself down to Lush and bought myself a face mask to cheer myself up with.  I reviewed it here and it has definitely made me feel a bit more human.
  3. Get my diet back on track.  Kind of.
I have eaten porridge for dinner and more sweet potatoes than I can count lately.  I literally had a dream the other night that my cupboard was overflowing with them and I couldn’t close the door!  I also bought a water bottle from Paperchase to take to uni in the afternoons to stop myself buying bottles of water, and also to drink more.  I take a flask of coffee in the mornings, but afternoons I forget, so here’s to even more water!  On the other hand, Ben and Jerry’s and wine have been on offer and I feel like shit depression-wise so whoopsie.
  4. Start running again.  Nope.
Lol.  That’s all I’m going to say on this one.
  5. Start my diss.  Yes!
I’ve written my proposal, translated the preface of my source text, and am up to my neck in research.  YAY STUDENTING.  Also stress.  Lots and lots of stress.
  6. Buy stuff for the house.  Yes!
On the same trip when I went to Lush, I bought some new towels, new reed diffusers, and some cake tins to make fridge cake.  My room smells like vanilla again and I love it.
  7. Write. Yes!
I have written for fun again lately, and even managed to finish something that I started two years ago!  The wine mentioned above might have helped with that tbh.
  8. Spend time with my Sims.  Yes!
I gave myself a few days off essays once I’d finished a deadline, and immediately lost myself in Sims.  I built a few houses, split a few marriages up, raised a child, and made a Science Gal Pals house for Garcia (Criminal Minds) and Abby (NCIS) to share.  I am very sad, leave me alone.

How have your May goals gone?

Hope you’re all ok out there!

Sweet potatoes are amazing, I definitely understand for addiction! ❤ You seem to have done really well with your May goals! Starting your dissertation is the hardest part and you seem like you've made real progress! Congrats! It's such a good feeling when you finish it 😀
